WASHINGTON: Human Rights Campaign has hired Olivia Alair Dalton as SVP of communications and marketing. Dalton will lead the LGBT civil rights group’s communications and marketing efforts. She previously served as a spokesperson for first lady Michelle Obama and was most recently SVP at SKDKnickerbocker.

NEW YORK: Ruder Finn has hired Scott Beaver as VP of Ruder Finn West, the agency’s San Francisco office. Beaver will focus on expanding the agency and growing the office’s global technology and innovation practice. He most recently worked at Liberty Communications, where he founded the company’s US business and led client strategy, business development, and financial planning.

NEW YORK: MSLGroup has launched its fifth-annual grant program, Generation Activation Be:Cause. The firm will award one local nonprofit with up to $100,000 in strategic communications counsel.

NEW YORK: The CHR Group has acquired marketing agency Colour. Chris Keevill, CEO of Colour, will continue to lead the Canada-based firm and will focus on maintaining its brand and operations. The deal will enhance CHR’s growing digital capabilities in North America, the company said.

NEW YORK: Los Angeles-based lifestyle and entertainment marketing communications agency 48 Communications has opened a PR division in New York. SVP Vijay Lalwani is leading the agency’s New York PR team. He joined the firm in March.

TORONTO: Shine PR has partnered with DelilahK, a Montreal-based online jewelry company. The firm will focus on assisting in the development of the DelilahK brand through market research and a detailed PR, social, and experiential campaign.
