The Met has issued a consultancy brief through the Crown Commercial Service.
The brief does not ask for traditional advertising expertise but has been received by creative agencies. There is no incumbent.
A spokeswoman for the Met said: "We’ve asked for some consultancy advice to help us understand what roles and structures we would need to put in place to build a customer insight function within our marketing department and what, if any, additional agency support we might need to implement our digital strategy.
"We hope to make a decision in the next couple of weeks."
