How 7 brands threw virtual confetti on the US women's soccer team

Brands such as Coca-Cola, Lyft, and Scholastic cheered on the US women's national soccer team on social media on Friday morning.

For the first time, a women’s sports team has been honored with a ticker-tape parade in New York City, after the US women’s national soccer team bested Japan 5-2 on Sunday night, winning the 2015 Women’s World Cup.

The team’s sponsors include Coca-Cola, the New York Red Bulls, Nike, Powerade, Ritz Crackers, and Trident Gum. But other brands and organizations applauded the team vial real-time marketing tweets.

The hashtag #USWNTParade was the top trend on Twitter on Friday morning.
