Another former Cognito exec Arora joins Vested as COO

NEW YORK: Recently launched integrated communications firm Vested has tapped former Cognito director Ishviene Arora as COO, effective July 9.

Arora reports to the firm’s CEO Dan Simon, who previously served as the president of Cognito. Simon opened Vested with fellow Cognito alum Binna Kim last week. Kim serves as president of the new agency.

As COO, Arora is responsible for managing the firm’s rapid growth and developing a standardized client service platform.

"We have aggressive growth goals," Arora told PRWeek. "I am focused on client service and making sure the company becomes the benchmark for client support."

Before joining Vested, Arora worked at Cognito since March 2007 in various roles, most recently as director. She left the firm in June.

While at Cognito, she helped attract and oversee millions of dollars in business, according to a statement.

It was not immediately clear if Cognito is replacing Arora’s role.

During her career, Arora has worked with brands in the finance and financial tech industries, including Citigroup, Nomura Research Institute, BBVACompass, Omgeo/DTCC, Tradeweb, Scivantage, and Situs.

Based in New York, Vested aims to help both traditional and new financial firms tackle their sales and marketing objectives through paid, owned, earned, and shared media campaigns.

Earlier this year, Simon and Kim, who previously served as MD for New York and the US market at Cognito, stepped down from their respective roles after about 10 years at the agency.

Gregory Papajohn was formally named MD and head of the New York office in March. No one is serving as acting president, and the agency has no plans to fill the role. Simon’s previous duties are now handled by the executive management team, including Cognito founder and CEO Tom Coombes.
