NEW YORK: Peter Land, most recently AOL’s communications chief, will join Finsbury on June 15 as partner.
Land, who served as PepsiCo’s corporate communications SVP for four years before his one-year stint at AOL, will report to Finsbury CEO Michael Gross. He will also work closely with partner Ed Adler.
In his new role, Land will help expand Finsbury’s global corporate communications offering. An increasing number of the WPP Group agency’s clients are asking for a global solution, he explained. He declined to disclose which clients he will work with at Finsbury.
"Where [consumer and corporate communications] strategies meet is a tremendous opportunity for Fisnbury, especially in the area of corporate reputation," Land said.
Finsbury, which rebranded from RLM Finsbury in September 2014, has 12 offices across nine countries. One of Land’s longer-term goals is to help the agency "grow and thrive inside and outside of North America," he added.
Since leaving AOL in April 2014, Land has done consulting work. He is also an adjunct professor at the NYU Stern School of Business.
Earlier in his career, he served as director of European promotions at Kraft Foods in London and global MD at Edelman. He was also previously CMO at Breeders’ Cup and director of marketing communications for the NBA.
