MINNEAPOLIS: Tunheim has named former Minnesota AgriGrowth Council communications director Adam Axvig to its public affairs staff as a consultant.
Darin Broton, a senior consultant who leads the public affairs practice at the firm, said Axvig’s role is new. He added that the agency has a bipartisan staff to help clients "break through that partisan logjam." Axvig will report to Broton.
Axvig’s responsibilities will include overseeing the day-to-day needs of clients and strategy. The public affairs practice focuses on areas including transportation, energy, and healthcare in states such as Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North and South Dakota.
Axvig's political experience includes working on the communications staff during the 2008 re-election campaign of Sen. Norm Coleman (R-MN) and on the leadership in Minnesota Senate Republican Caucus campaigns in 2010 and 2012.
He was also a leadership assistant in the Minnesota State Senate and webmaster at the Minnesota Free Market Institute, according to his LinkedIn account.
