The race for the Republican nomination for president in 2016 got a lot busier in the past week, with Dr. Ben Carson, former HP CEO Carly Fiorina, and ex-Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee all joining the contest.

Carson and Fiorina are the only prominent African-American and female candidates, respectively, on the GOP side. Huckabee, well-known to Republican primary voters for his Fox News Channel show as well as his time running Arkansas’ executive branch, is making his second bid for the White House.

The field will soon get even more crowded. Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum will reportedly announce another bid on May 27.

The Democratic side remained unchanged from last week, with Hillary Rodham Clinton and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders filling out the field.
