Edell joined H+K in 2012 in a newly created role to develop digital content for all of the agency's sectors. He also created an in-house digital studio.

Prior to that, Edell was head of digital at employee comms agency Work and also ran humble2, a web agency supplying digital solutions to SMEs.

At Red, Edell will report to creative services director Joff Sumner.

Meanwhile, PRWeek has learned that former Red managing director, corporate and technology, Steph Bailey, who joined last year, has been hired by FleishmanHillard.

Bailey left Red in January this year after just five months. The agency will be announcing her replacement over the coming days.

A spokesman for FleishmanHillard said: "We confirm Steph Bailey has joined FleishmanHillard as a director. She has joined the London office and will be working as senior consultant across a range of client activity. We’re pleased that Steph has joined, bringing a wealth of senior strategic and creative experience to our growing team"
