PALO ALTO, CA: HP has hired Antonio Lucio, formerly the global chief brand officer at Visa, as CMO of HP Inc., which will contain its personal systems and printing businesses after the company’s separation into two entities. He will report to Dion Weisler, the future CEO of HP Inc. Lucio was previously Visa’s CMO and also held roles at PepsiCo and Del Monte.

TOKYO: Dentsu has established the Dentsu Ventures Global Fund I, a corporate venture capital fund with total capital of 5 billion yen, the holding company said Wednesday. Companies in the US, Europe, and Asia will be its main targets.

LONDON: WPP has acquired Medialets, which makes technology to help marketers manage and measure ROI from mobile ad campaigns. Medialets’ clients include American Express, HBO, Johnson & Johnson, and Sky Sports. Founded in 2008, it has 50 staffers.

ATLANTA: Phase 3 Marketing & Communications has bought Brand Fever, a hybrid brand and digital marketing firm. Founded in 1997, Brand Fever has a 25-person team.

NEW YORK: PROI Worldwide has added integrated comms firm Out of the Box to its partnership in the EMEA region and established an office in Greece. Out of the Box’s services include a combination of traditional offline practices and digital.

ST. LOUIS: Elasticity has brought on Ann Balsamo as VP of accounts, effective on Wednesday. She previously worked at FleishmanHillard and Weber Shandwick. Balsamo has managed business for Energizer, AT&T, and McDonald’s.

BOSTON: Denterlein has struck a partnership with Barron Associates Worldwide with the goal of developing new business opportunities and boosting the expertise of each firm.

WATERVILLE, ME: Colby College has promoted Ruth Jacobs Jackson to VP of communications. She was most recently assistant VP of comms. Jacobs Jackson has led the communications office since last August.

VIENNA, VA: Boyne Golf, a collection of 11 courses in Michigan, has hired Buffalo Brand Invigoration Group to manage its PR program. The firm will create a golf-focused publicity and media relations program.
