Called Cohn & Wolfe Strategic Consulting, it will provide companies with services such as market positioning, employee change management and brand strategy consulting, alongside reputation management, crisis and issues management and corporate storytelling.

The group will comprise agency leaders across global markets, who are already working with brands in the pharmaceutical, engineering, oil and gas and financial services sectors.

Donna Imperato, CEO of Cohn & Wolfe, said: "Companies are increasingly recognising the critical role of communications in building corporate reputation, as well as driving corporate success. Strategic Consulting will help clients develop the strategic foundation from which to build corporate positioning, branding and communications."

Beattie, whose new role is global head of Strategic Consulting, said: "With the launch of our 2015 authentic brands research across 12 markets, Cohn & Wolfe uncovered unique insights into the challenges facing businesses and brands today, which helped us provide companies with a roadmap to meet those challenges head on."

In his previous role as global corporate practice leader, Beattie advised leading corporations including Shell, Nokia, Sinar Mas Group and Boehringer Ingelheim. Beattie started out as a newspaper journalist and television producer, and before Cohn & Wolfe was CEO of Pleon UK.
