Accor Thailand hires new director of loyalty and communications

Hotel operator Accor Thailand has hired Valerie Marina Barrios, former CMO for Lebua Hotels & Resorts to head its loyalty programs and manage its corporate communications for part of the region.

BANGKOK - Valerie Marina Barrios has joined hotel operator Accor as director of loyalty and communications for Accor Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines. She replaces Vasu Thirasak who will be leaving the company.

Barrios will be responsible for the firm's loyalty programs and campaigns across its 97 hotels under 9 brands in these markets. She will also manage its corporate communications for these countries.

Accor has announced plans to add another 34 hotels in these markets over the next four years.

Prior to joining Accor, Barrios was chief marketing officer for Lebua Hotels & Resorts where she oversaw the global branding, marketing and public relations for the group. An MBA graduate from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, Barrios has held several positions with various branding and consulting firms, both in the US and Thailand, and is an expert in brand marketing and public relations.
