The agency will support Delta’s in-house comms team in activities including route launches, product upgrades, media trips and industry events.

It will also help promote new, non-stop services from London Heathrow to both Philadelphia and Newark this year in addition to flights between Manchester and New York-JFK.

Marc Cornelius, 80:20 Communications founder and managing director, said: "The competitive landscape in the transatlantic market continues to evolve and we are looking forward to promoting the exciting new opportunities this brings for passengers."

Debbie Egerton, Delta Air Lines regional manager of corporate comms, said the UK was an important market for Delta, which wants to position itself as the carrier of choice for travel to the US.

Delta has previously worked with Brunswick Group.
