Meachen has been with Hearst for the past eight years and is currently head of PR for Cosmopolitan and Red. She previously worked for Bite Communications. Meachen will move into a central role to become head of PR across the whole business.

This week the Outside Organisation announced the hire of Hearst senior PR manager Robin Invest.
Meachen's promotion follows the appointment of Lisa Quinn from financial services company Royal London, as director of comms in January.
The team will also be strengthened by the hire of Ben Bolton as PR manager later this month. Bolton joins Hearst from global video network Rightster where he is currently corporate comms manager. Hearst is also in the process of recruiting a PR executive.
Quinn said: "Hearst has many well-known brands, and our job as a team will be to amplify the power and reach of these brands, as well as further develop the Hearst corporate brand profile.

"Karen brings with her a deep understanding of the business, as well as excellent judgement, a creative and strategic approach to PR, and good contacts across a broad range of media channels. Ben also has excellent media contacts, and a good understanding of the tech industry, combined with creativity and a proven ability to deliver impactful campaigns."
