Hiive is an online tool and network service to connect creative professionals at any stage of their career with jobs, courses, knowledge and people.
More than 1,000 companies are listed on Hiive, including the BBC, Google, Sky and the British Fashion Council, listing courses, apprenticeships and job vacancies.
Since its launch yesterday, 500 people signed up to Hiive, taking its membership to more than 7,000.
The launch was backed by Create UK - a strategy for the creative industry that sets out goals for 2020, including doubling the value of UK creative exports from £15.5bn to £31bn and ensuring more creative start-ups survive beyond their first year.
Speaking at a Creative Industries event at the House of Commons yesterday, Nicola Mendelsohn, co-chair of the Creative Industries Council and VP EMEA Facebook, said: "The creative industry contributed £77bn to the UK economy while employing 1.7 million people directly. These are incredible numbers.
"One of the reasons we've managed to do this is we can come together and help the Government to understand how it can support these vital industries. I'm sure we are going to fight each other rather hard in the upcoming elections but I do hope we can forge a consensus across all the parties on how we can enhance the value created by creative industries."
