Law joined Grayling in 2010 as MD of its consumer division. She has previously worked for Cow PR, Cohn & Wolfe and Edelman.
Law will report to The Academy’s co-founders Mitchell Kaye and Dan Glover.

Kaye said: "Hiring a managing director isn’t something we thought we’d be doing in our first year, but we’ve grown quicker than expected, and feel the time is right to bring someone in.

"Nicky was always our top choice; she brings energy, enthusiasm and an excellent track record of leading people and giving clients intelligent and senior consultancy. She shares our ambition, sets the same standards, and like us she has a paranoia about becoming average."

Law added: "The Academy has enjoyed a really successful first year and I’m looking forward to helping it build on this, and deliver our plan to make the agency the best in the industry."

The Academy is almost a year old and has a client portfolio including The Sun, The Times, American Express, Telefonica and Beagle Street.
