Ketchum China's Fitzgerald shifts to lead North America corporate

Fitzgerald has led Ketchum Greater China since 2012.

DALLAS: Ketchum Greater China EVP Sean Fitzgerald has moved from Shanghai to Dallas, Texas, to serve as the firm’s North America corporate and public affairs practice director, effective Monday.

Fitzgerald, a 15-year Ketchum veteran, will report to senior partner and North America CEO Barri Rafferty, as well as partner and MD of Ketchum’s global practices Hilary Hanson McKean.

His new role will include "growing, diversifying and promoting the practice’s service offerings and tools, both internally and externally," according to company statement. He will also work closely with clients as a senior counselor.

"Initially I will be focused on refining and better integrating all the corporate and PA services available throughout the North American geography to ensure a consistency of product and client service throughout all Ketchum offices in the region," said Fitzgerald via email.

He added that he will work to further develop existing talent and recruit new staffers to in the practice.

Before moving to China, Fitzgerald served as MD of Ketchum West since 2004. Prior to that, he was the Los Angeles office director. He also previously worked at Mattel as VP of global communications and at Levi Strauss & Co. as director of global communications.

Last week, longtime Ketchum staffer Paul Wood was also promoted to director of the firm’s New York corporate practice.
