The Press Association hires ex-Thomson Reuters PR Sophie Lister as comms manager

The Press Association (PA) has appointed Sophie Lister, formerly of Hudson Sandler and rival news agency Thomson Reuters, as communications manager.

She will be responsible for managing external and internal comms for several divisions within the company including news, images and sport. Lister will also advise on comms strategies for all the group's subsidiaries including TNR, Globelynx and Sticky Content.

She was previously an account director at financial and corporate comms agency Hudson Sandler. Before that Lister worked in the PR team at Thomson Reuters.

Lister reports to PA managing director Tony Watson, who said she will "provide invaluable support as well as oversee and implement the strategic direction of PA Group’s communications".

Lister said PA is "an organisation I deeply admire and I look forward to working across the company to start building greater awareness of the group's initiatives".

Lister replaces Sean Ottley, who left last year.
