He replaces Nigel Szembel in the role.
Breslin was also formerly a senior associate partner at Brunswick and partner at the Greenmantle Consultancy. He has significant financial services expertise, having advised BNP, Electra, Euronext, Norwich Union, Prudential and UBS during the course of his career.
Breslin’s appointment comes as part of a shake-up of the senior support team under CEO John Phizackerley, who took on the role in 2014. Late last year the company announced the arrival of global head of HR Carrie Heiss.
Phizackerley said Breslin is "an important hire for us as we seek to further strengthen our management team".
"He will be responsible for the development and delivery of Tullett Prebon’s communications strategy and activities globally. His extensive experience of corporate communications will be an important asset to the company as we seek to engage fully with all of our key stakeholders."
Tullett Prebon is among the world’s biggest interdealer brokers, operating across 23 countries. It has experienced a dip in trade recently, with turnover for the first half of 2014 down 15 per cent to £360.3m ($611.5m). Last year it announced plans to shed around 210 jobs.
