Kreab hires ex-Royal Dutch Shell PR chief Björn Edlund

Kreab has appointed Björn Edlund - former head of corporate comms at Royal Dutch Shell, automation tech giant ABB and Novartis - as a senior adviser.

He will work from the firm’s London office.

Edlund was chief comms officer at Sandoz AG from 1992 until 1996, when it merged with Ciba-Geigy to form Novartis. He later worked at ABB before joining Royal Dutch Shell in 2005.

"Having worked for 11 CEOs and six chairmen, he has deep experience in corporate positioning and executive counselling, as well as in the management of issues and crises," said Gunilla Banér, London managing partner at Kreab.

Edlund said: "I am joining Kreab at a very exciting time, both for the Kreab network, and in terms of the global challenge facing business in society and evolving stakeholder demands."

The company rebranded as Kreab at the start of February. It was previously known as Kreab Gavin Anderson, the name it adopted following Kreab’s merger with US-based Gavin Anderson & Co.

The agency has said it serves about 500 clients in 25 countries.
