Your call: Brian Williams' on-air apology - did it work?

NBC News anchor Brian Williams tried to reestablish credibility on Wednesday night after he was caught embellishing his place in a story that took place during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Did he succeed?

NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams apologized on-air on Wednesday and to Stars and Stripes for saying he was riding in a helicopter that was brought down by enemy fire while covering the 2003 invasion of Iraq. In reality, Williams was a passenger in a helicopter flying behind the one that was shot down.

The issue came to light after the anchor repeated the tale on-air on Friday night. He also told the story on The Late Show with David Letterman in 2013. Williams was called out by veterans of the Iraq War on social media, prompting the mea culpa.

Did you find Williams’ apology credible and effective? Take our poll below.
