H+K Strategies appoints a new leader in Mexico

Daniel Karam, previously a government official, will serve as president and MD of the firm's Mexico City office.

MEXICO CITY: Hill+Knowlton Strategies has hired Daniel Karam as president and MD of its Mexico office.

Karam will also serve as regional practice leader for public affairs.

Prior to this, Karam was president of a consultancy that focused on lobbying, public affairs, corporate communications, crisis management, and political strategy. The clients of his previous firm will now be part of H+K.

Karam was formerly the director of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS), or the Mexican Social Security Agency. He also served as director of Seguro Popular, the Social Protection Commission under the Health Ministry.
