Threepipe will provide Gfinity with b2b PR support, focused on driving brand and industry awareness in key trade and business media.
Gfinity’s successful float on the small business stock market (AIM) in December raised £3.5 million and is a marker of the growing value of the e-sports element of the worldwide gaming industry.
Pitch International will become the exclusive commercial agency of the inaugural Gfinity Championships, to be held between March and September this year.
The games will see professional e-sports teams from around the world compete across 25 tournaments staged in what is billed as the UK’s first and only dedicated e-sports arena.
Jim Hawker, co-founder of Threepipe, said: "Gfinity presents a unique and exciting opportunity for us to help develop the e-sports sector in this country and challenge brand and consumer perceptions of the wider sports industry. The growth in participation, viewing figures and prize funds highlights the potential opportunity open to marketers and indicates that e-sports can no longer be marginalised by more traditional sports."
Gfinity said it brought in Threepipe because of its expertise across PR, social and digital.
