Sutton was previously head of digital comms at Bottle PR, where he created campaigns for brands including Golden Wonder, The History Channel and AXA.
The position at Popcorn is a long-term consulting contract for 2015 to act as the senior social strategist for clients. It is a newly created role and Sutton starts immediately.
Sutton will divide his time between advising and leading the in-house teams while growing the social division.
Louise Lloyd, founder of Popcorn, said: "Paul’s skill for influencing and infiltrating social spaces on behalf of brands in a credible, relevant way, plus his captivating proposition for further developing Popcorn’s social division, made him an ideal hire as we continue to build a fully integrated offering for our clients."
The agency is approaching its third year and has partnered with agencies in the US and Australia as part of its ongoing expansion.
