DEARBORN, MI: Ford has appointed Mark LaNeve, COO of the company’s inter-agency marketing shop Global Team Ford, to succeed John Felice as VP of US marketing, sales, and service after he retires.
Felice, who has worked at the automaker for 30 years, will retire on February 1. Following his departure, LaNeve will lead all marketing, sales, service, and dealer relations in the US. He will report to Stephen Odell, EVP of global marketing, sales, and service, and Ford EVP and Americas president Joe Hinrichs.
LaNeve has served as COO of WPP’s inter-disciplinary Global Team Ford since August 2012, according to his bio on Ford’s website. During this time, LaNeve oversaw Team Detroit, which handles Ford’s US marketing, as well as the company’s agency relationships in London, Sao Paulo, and Shanghai. He also led Hudson Rouge, Ford’s Lincoln brand firm in New York.
Team Ford CEO Satish Korde will assume LaNeve's duties when he leaves the COO role.
WPP created Team Detroit in 2007 to serve Ford's marketing needs under its own P&L. Three years ago, the holding company launched Team Lincoln, as well as Hudson Rouge, a creative agency in New York serving the Lincoln brand.
Before Global Team Ford, LaNeve worked at Allstate Insurance since 2009, serving as senior EVP and CMO. He has also held leadership roles at other automakers, such as CEO of Volvo Cars North America, GM of the Cadillac brand, and VP of sales, service, and marketing at GM.
Felice, who joined Ford in April 1984, has served in an array of management positions throughout his career at the company in both the US and Asia-Pacific, according to his corporate bio.
Representatives from Ford and Global Team Ford were not immediately available for comment.
