Verisign sticks with Weber Shandwick for global PR account

Verisign has retained Weber Shandwick as its global PR agency partner after a review.

RESTON, VA: Web domain name company Verisign has retained Weber Shandwick as its global PR agency partner following a competitive review.

"Weber Shandwick has been a proud partner of Verisign since 2006," Weber CEO Andy Polansky said in an emailed statement. "We look forward to continuing our relationship and helping Verisign tell the story about the value of getting online with .com and .net on a global level."

Further information regarding the review, which was conducted late last year, was not disclosed. Representatives from Verisign did not respond to requests for comment.

Verisign previously brought on Weber to help increase the company’s branding efforts worldwide. In 2012, Verisign hired Text100 as its PR agency partner for EMEA.

Verisign reported a revenue increase of 4.7%, year-over- year, to $255 million in the third quarter of 2014, exceeding analyst expectations. Also in Q3, Verisign added 1.15 million net new names to the .com and .net registry, finishing the period with 130 million active domains. The company will report its Q4 and full-year earnings on February 5.

The company, founded in 1995, has about 1,100 staffers across its offices in Delaware, California, Switzerland, India, England, and Australia, according to Verisign’s website.
