CARSON CITY, NEVADA: The Nevada Division of Tourism has selected Fahlgren Mortine as its integrated marketing AOR, awarding the firm a $20.2 million, 29-month contract.
Fahlgren’s contract is expected to run from February 10, 2015 to June 30, 2017, according to documents posted on the state’s procurement website on Monday. A state purchasing officer confirmed there is the option to renew for two years.
The state initially issued the RFP seeking an integrated marketing partner in August, then canceled and re-issued it in November. It is not immediately clear why the first review was called off. According to the reissued RFP, the budget, among other details of the work, such as target audience and services, including PR, was updated. In August, the budget was worth $12.6 million over two years.
Broad responsibilities on the account include strategic planning, account planning and management, media buying, creative development and execution, external communications, PR, social media, digital, and customer relationship management, as stated in the RFP.
PRWeek reported in August that Burson-Marsteller’s contract with the state expired in July. Representatives from Burson were not immediately available for comment.
A Fahlgren representative was not immediately available for comment.
