NetScout retains W2O Group; GMMB hires Bataille as SVP; GenSpera taps JPA Health Communications.

WESTFORD, MA: NetScout has hired W2O Group as its integrated public relations and marketing AOR, managing PR, social media, and digital marketing strategy. NetScout is a maker of application and network performance management services.

WASHINGTON: GMMB has brought on Julie Green Bataille as SVP, leading the firm’s work in healthcare, health insurance care, and public health. She previously worked at the US Department of Health and Human Services as director of communications for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

SAN ANTONIO: Biotech company GenSpera has named JPA Health Communications as its PR AOR. The firm will manage external communications. GenSpera develops cancer treatment drugs.

BOSTON: Tel Aviv-based PR firm Blonde 2.0 has expanded to the US by opening an office in Boston focused on the startup and technology markets. The agency specializes in marketing to startups, venture capital funds, and enterprises that want to gain brand awareness.

BOSTON: Elizabeth Guyton, former communications director for Scott Brown’s Senate bid in New Hampshire, has joined the staff of Massachusetts Governor-Elect Charlie Baker as press secretary for his incoming administration, according to the Boston Globe.

CINCINNATI: Boxcar Strategies, a Louisville, Kentucky-based firm, has opened an office in downtown Cincinnati, according to numerous reports. At its opening, the location has two staffers. Boxcar opened in 2011.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ: Healthcare Trust of America, an owner of medical office buildings, has hired Jessica Thorsheim as director of investor relations. She most recently served in the same role at Move, Inc., the parent of

ASHEVILLE, NC: The Goss Agency has brought on Mark Schofield as SVP and director of account management. He was previously director of client services at Atlanta marketing agency Modo Modo and also worked at McKinney and Silver Advertising.

DES MOINES, IA: Meredith has acquired Selectable Media, a firm focused on native and engagement-based advertising. Selectable CEO Matt Minoff will oversee Meredith Digital’s ad operations and products, while COO Marc Rothschild will manage its ad sales, marketing, and account management teams. Both will be based in New York.
