DALLAS: Allison+Partners has appointed James Florez, cofounder of McKinley James Agency, to serve as GM of its Dallas office.
Florez is reporting to Matthew Della Croce, senior partner and global head of the corporate practice at Allison, and has succeeded Jackson Harrell, who has shifted roles at the firm. Harrell is focusing on consulting and client service in the agency’s corporate practice, as well as helping Allison grow in Texas.
One of Florez’s main objectives in leading Allison’s Dallas operation is to "take the strengths that we have here, which are primarily in the corporate, reputation management, and public affairs roles, and continue to build on those core areas."
He added that he also wants to expand the location’s operations into areas such as energy, health technology, and consumer marketing.
"It attracted me to be able to get immersed in client business and actually be able to work on things and not just be an administrator and business-development guy," Florez said.
Florez cofounded McKinley James Agency with his wife in 2012. The firm is no longer in business, he said.
Prior to that, Florez served as GM of Burson-Marsteller Dallas, where he worked with clients including DFW International Airport, the Houston Airport System, Mitsui Ltd., and the Texas Department of State Health Services. He also previously served as GM for Edelman Texas for three and a half years.
Allison opened its Dallas office in 2011, the same year it launched operations in London and Chicago.
