MUMBAI – Weber Shandwick has hired Rohan Kanchan as MD of consulting and strategy in India.
Kanchan was formerly VP and head of strategy and planning at Perfect Relations, also based in Mumbai. He will start his new role in January.
He will lead Weber Shandwick’s corporate and finance practices, according to a statement from the agency. He will report to Valerie Pinto, who is also due to join in January as CEO designate.
In the statement, Baxter Jolly, vice-chairman of Weber Shandwick Asia-Pacific, said Kanchan "brings with him a formidable skillset in reputation building and CEO equity, as well as crisis management and litigation support".
Kanchan’s experience spans advisory, corporate, finance, IR and technology services.
