Video crowdsourcing company Genero appoints Propeller

Genero has brought in Propeller to manage its comms, in a bid to raise its profile in the advertising, technology and business sectors.

After a non-competitive pitch, Propeller will start work on the account immediately on an initial three-month contract with the potential to become ongoing. This is the first time Genero has employed a PR agency.

Genero is a video platform that allows brands to crowdsource films from a global network of 300,000 creative filmmakers in more than 180 countries. It started in 2009 as a platform for music videos, but has expanded as the demand for video marketing content increases.

The agency will be responsible for the brand’s communication strategy, media relations and creating speaker opportunities at marketing, advertising and media industry events.

Genero MD Darren Khan said: "We are able to tap into a global talent pool to produce top quality content in a quick timeframe. Working with Propeller will enable us to get that message out to more brands, agencies, media owners and publishers."
