Natasha Weeks has been promoted to director of consumer health and wellbeing. She was previously associate director of the division. The position was previously overseen by joint CEO Angie Wiles.
Weeks will work alongside Rebecca Rhodes, whose new role is executive director. She will continue in her wider role of global executive creative director.
Wiles said: "Natasha and Rebecca’s complementary skills and experience ensure we have the absolute ‘best of both’ in our consumer division. Together they are responsible for transforming and diversifying the work we do for consumer health and wellbeing brands."
After a three-way pitch, Virgo has been appointed to work on the company’s over-the-counter (OTC) business, with specific focus on the CB12 brand, a range of products to combat bad breath.
The contract is ongoing and the agency starts work on the account immediately. It will add to the agency’s existing client roster, including Durex and Nurofen.
Neil Lawrence, head of OTC at Meda Pharma, said: "We are excited to be working with Virgo consumer health and wellbeing on our core CB12 brand. I was really impressed by the strategic thinking demonstrated by its team and the understanding of the challenges our brand faces.
"Its creative approach to completely position the brand in the lifestyle arena based on its own new insights was particularly striking. I’m confident it will be a valuable partner in changing behaviour and attitudes towards bad breath."
