MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA: InPowered VP of communications Robb Henshaw joined cloud platform Jasper as senior director of corporate communications this week. It is a newly created role.
He is reporting to VP of corporate and brand marketing Rhonda Walker at Jasper, a platform that helps enterprises and mobile operators deploy Internet-based services on a global scale.
In addition to leading corporate marketing and branding, Walker previously managed global corporate comms for Jasper, but Henshaw is taking that responsibility off her plate as the business grows its staff.
Henshaw will also manage Jasper’s media and analyst relations globally as well as its comms agencies, which include AxiCom in the UK and LaunchSquad in the US.
"I will be developing more brand awareness of Jasper and what all these great brands using Jasper are doing to make people’s lives better with the [Internet of Things]," he explained.
The term "Internet of Things" broadly refers to the expanding network of Web-enabled devices that automatically communicate without human intervention.
Founded in 2004, Jasper is based in Mountain View, California. It partners with mobile operator groups representing more than 100 network affiliates. The company also works with 1,500 companies and brands.
Henshaw worked at inPowered since last November before leaving the company last week. Marjaneh Ravai is handling his responsibilities in the interim until a permanent successor is found.
InPowered did not respond to requests for comment about Henshaw’s departure.
Previously, he was VP of communications for tech startup GetGoing, global director of corporate communications at SugarSync, and senior director of global marketing and communications for Proxim Wireless.
