WASHINGTON: Carrie Blewitt, an 11-year veteran of Qorvis MSLGroup, has joined Story Partners as SVP.

Blewitt joined the firm on November 10. Reporting to Story Partners CEO Debra Cabral, her focus is on client management and new business, Blewitt said.

Based in Washington, DC, Story Partners specializes in public affairs. Blewitt said she is looking forward to bringing her skills in corporate communications, consumer marketing, and nonprofits to public affairs campaigns at the firm.

"A lot of the same skills apply," said Blewitt of her move from a large firm to a smaller one. "I was attracted to the fact that it is a smaller, growing operation."

Blewitt most recently served as MD at Qorvis, which was acquired by Publicis Groupe and merged into the MSLGroup network at the beginning of this year. Prior to her 11 years at Qorvis, she worked with Story Partners chairman Glory Story Dittus at Dittus’ former firm, Dittus Communications.

"[Blewitt] will be a key member of our team overseeing several high-level accounts, acting as a true partner to our clients and mentor to our junior staff," Dittus said in a statement to PRWeek.

Earlier in her career, Blewitt also worked at Weber Shandwick, CNN, DC’s Newschannel 8, and Seattle’s NorthWest Cable News.
