The news follows the departure of Hearst Magazines UK head of PR Jane Wynyard, who joined online fashion retailer Net-A-Porter earlier this month.

Quinn, until recently the group head of external relations at Royal London, has taken the newly created role of director of comms, which covers both internal and external comms and reports to CEO Anna Jones.

She will also become a member of the Hearst UK senior leadership team and be responsible for developing and communicating its corporate comms strategy.

Quinn has almost 20 years' experience in comms, including previous director roles at the National Lottery Promotions Unit and Band & Brown (now Citizen Relations).

She said: "Hearst is a business with fantastic brands, in a sector that is constantly evolving. The role combines corporate and consumer communications, internal and external engagement, so it’s broad and varied. Anna’s agenda as CEO is to innovate and to build the corporate profile of the group, as well as the individual brands, which appeals to me."

Jones added: "This is a newly created senior role, with responsibility for protecting and enhancing Hearst UK’s reputation, and we are delighted that Lisa is joining the business. She has a proven track record of shaping strategy and delivering successful campaigns across a range of sectors and we think this breadth of experience will benefit the company."
