PRWeek understands that Airbnb has completed the chemistry phase and has invited a handful of agencies to pitch.
The move follows the appointment of Airbnb chief marketing officer Jonathan Mildenhall, who joined the company in May this year from Coca-Cola.
Last month Airbnb launched a social media campaign in partnership wth Waterstones to host a sleepover in its flagship bookshop in Piccadilly. The campaign attracted widespread media coverage and increased followers on its Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Airbnb and Freuds declined to comment.
