Ogilvy PR wins Large Consultancy of the Year at PRCA Awards

Ogilvy PR scooped the Large Consultancy of the Year prize at the PRCA Awards last night, while William Hill and Prostate Cancer UK won Team of the Year prizes.

William Hill was recognised as private sector in-house team of the year while Prostate Cancer UK won the charity equivalent.

Medium Consultancy of the Year went to Harvard PR and Small Consultancy to Capella PR, while Alfred won New Consultancy.

The Mark Mellor Award for outstanding contribution to the PR industry, which is named after the late MD of PR agency Firefly, was presented to Inmarsat comms chief Chris McLaughlin.

Claire Walker, Mellor’s widow and Firefly CEO, presented the award, saying: "Any PR career is all-consuming, but for Chris, 2014 was the year he found himself in the midst of the MH370 crisis, with speculation and rumour abounding. Despite the intense pressure, he still found the time to be a valued member of the PR profession."

Manning Gottlieb OMD PR and marketing manager Anneka Dew won In-House Professional of the Year, while DeVries SLAM managing director Helena Bloomer MPRCA achieved Consultancy Head of the Year.
The Consultancy Award for Campaign of the Year went to MHP Communications for its Christmas Tinner campaign for GAME. The In-house Award for Campaign of the Year went to Rethink Mental Illness for its #FindMike campaign.

PRCA director general Francis Ingham said: "The real beauty of the annual PRCA Awards is they provide an insight into where the PR industry is right now. By this evidence, it’s doing fabulously."
