One of the Asia’s best-known boutique financial PR firm has made a bold move. This week Hong Kong based Ryan Financial Communications dropped its middle name. So from now on it is to be called Ryan Communication.
"Our old brand name did not reflect what we were doing," founder and managing director Damien Ryan told PRWeek.
The firm now has a brand new website and logo (see above). "As brand specialists, we are big advocates of companies being acutely aware of their identities and ensuring they remain modern and relevant," he explained. "So, we took our own advice and modernised our company logo, website and the visual experience stakeholders have with our company."
Ryan’s business has transformed over the years. "Two to three years ago, around 90 percent of our clients were from the financial services sector," said the former financial journalist. "We now operate at around a 60/40 split, whereby 60 percent of our clients are from the financial services sector and 40 percent are corporate, institutional businesses. This includes real estate, resources, and professional services."
The agency is expected to hire more staff specialised in content, digital and social media strategy. It already has offices in Hong Kong and Singapore, and will open a new office in Shanghai in the first quarter of 2015.
