HAMILTON, BERMUDA: Bacardi Limited has appointed Jim Gallagher, previously SVP of corporate communications at IMG, as its global chief communications officer.
Gallagher, who worked at IMG from 2007 until the company was bought by William Morris Endeavor earlier this year, will report to Bacardi CEO Mike Dolan.
Based in the company’s headquarters in Hamilton, Bermuda, Gallagher will collaborate with Dolan on strategic internal and external communications issues.
Gallagher was not immediately available for comment.
Last January, Bacardi brought on Eric Kraus as SVP and chief communications and corporate affairs officer, which was a newly created position at the time. Kraus was hired to oversee all of the spirit company’s communications functions around the world.
According to a Bacardi representative, Kraus left the company in April. While Kraus oversaw worldwide communications, the title Gallagher will use, global CCO, is new.
Prior to IMG, Gallagher led communications at ITT for 20 years, where he worked with a number of sports and entertainment entities, such as Madison Square Garden, the NBA’s New York Knicks, and Caesars Palace gaming properties.
Bacardi, founded in 1862, has a portfolio comprised of more than 200 brands and labels, such as Bacardi rum, Grey Goose vodka, Bombay Sapphire gin, and Dewar’s blended Scotch whisky.
