ARLINGTON, VA: Burson-Marsteller worldwide chair and CEO Donald Baer was elected as chair of the PBS board of directors, which governs and lays out policy for the network.
A board member since 2011, Baer previously held the roles of vice chair and chair of the finance committee. He will remain a member of PBS’ executive board, as well.
Baer became part of the board of the PBS Foundation in 2008.
General and professional directors of the PBS board serve three-year terms after their election and are not paid.
Prior to Burson, Baer’s career has included stints at Discovery Communications, in the Clinton White House, and as a journalist.
