NEW YORK: Jeffrey Schneider, SVP of communications at ABC News, will step down from his role at the media company to launch his own PR agency later this year.
Schneider, who has worked at ABC News for 14 years, will stay with the network through the midterm elections before founding Schneider Global Strategy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. His first clients, according to Capital New York, will include ABC News and parent company Disney ABC Television.
ABC News President James Goldston wrote a note to staffers on Monday to inform them about Schneider’s departure. It also stated that comms VP Julie Townsend will succeed Schneider as head of the ABC News communications strategy and PR team, according to reports.
