Rain Communications scoops account for hair growth device iGrow

The London-based PR company has beaten three agencies after a competitive pitch to win the one-year contract for the launch of iGrow in the UK.

iGrow: Rain Communications will handle the brand's UK launch

iGrow, which is the only hair regrowth device for home use approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, has so far only been sold in the US. The product uses low-level laser therapy for permanent hair regrowth for men and women.

The launch date has not been set, but the agency confirmed it would be some time during autumn/winter and will start work on the campaign immediately.

Rain Communications account director Katie Blake said: "iGrow plans to branch out to Europe in time, but for now the company is firmly set on the UK market. This should be a shake-up product for the market – there’s already been a buzz within the UK."

Blake will work on the campaign along with Rain CEO Delia Hyde and junior account manager Stephanie Murray.

The agency will bring in celebrity ambassadors and develop strategic media partnerships to raise the product’s UK profile within the hair regrowth market, which is worth an estimated £100m per year.
