By entering into the partnership OZMA aims to expand its public relations services in the high-growth Asian markets, while GHC Asia aims to secure more regional projects from Japan-based clients.
"We already have a number of existing clients in common with Ozma PR, however, they also work across other sectors which represents new opportunities for us and vice versa," explained Grebstad.
"In the run up to the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, many Japanese companies as well as the tourism industry will be looking at opportunities to expand their brand presence internationally and we are well equipped to benefit from this by having a strong background and network in the travel and tourism sectors," she told PRWeek.
Founded in 1997 by Lynn Grebstad and Paul Hicks GHC Asia specialises in communications around products and services aimed at higher-income consumers. Headquartered in Hong Kong the agency has offices in Shanghai, Bangkok and Singapore and has been growing in tandem with the rise of Asia's wealthy.
OZMA is one of the oldest public relations firms in Japan. Founded in 1963, it has developed strong media relations and maintained a solid client base that currently includes over 100 retained accounts and over 100 project based accounts, served by more than 160 communications professionals in its Tokyo and Osaka offices.
