SUNNYVALE, CA: Lee Flanagin has joined Juniper Networks as VP of corporate communications.
Flanagin is reporting to Juniper CMO Brad Brooks. He succeeded Michael Busselen in the role. Busselen joined Juniper in 2012 from McAfee, where he was CCO and SVP of global external affairs.
Busselen said he resigned from Juniper in May and took the summer off, adding that he is evaluating other opportunities with the goal of finding a new corporate role later this year.
Flanagin is overseeing about 25 staffers around the world in the role and is responsible for the company’s worldwide PR, executive communications, and internal comms.
"My main goal is to further Juniper’s mission of human empowerment through knowledge creation, and connection," he said.
Prior to Juniper, Flanagin served as senior director of corporate communications at SanDisk. He left the company in May and was not directly replaced in the role, he told PRWeek.
Michael Diamond, director of global PR and communications at SanDisk, said the company realigned job responsibilities in line with business needs after Flanagin left. He took over management of PR, industry analyst relations, and internal communications, while duties such as Web and event support are now handled separately.
Prior to SanDisk, he served as director of corporate communications at RAE Systems, VP of worldwide corporate communications at ARC International, and director of worldwide corporate communications at MIPS Technologies.
