Bennett has joined the Omnicom-owned agency from Exposure, where he has been a director for more than three years and has worked with clients including Xbox, Philips and Inmarsat.
He previously worked as a freelance consultant after three years as senior vice-president at Edelman.
Reporting to FleishmanHIllard managing director Richard Kanareck, Bennett will head up the brand marketing team of more than 20 people, overseeing a range of accounts including Expedia, Emirates, TK Maxx, Starwood Hotels and Freeview.
Kanareck said: "Dave brings a wealth of integrated, creative experience to the table working with some of the world’s most prominent and culturally connected brands."
Asked what kind of changes Bennett would make, Kanareck said that his "senior strategic ability" would provide increased opportunity for the agency in terms of strategic and creative planning, especially across marketing.
