NORWALK, CT: Travel discount website Priceline.com has tapped Flavie Lemarchand-Wood as VP, communications.
Based in the company’s Norwalk, Connecticut headquarters, Lemarchand-Wood started in the role last week. She reports to Priceline CMO Brett Keller and succeeds Leslie Cafferty, who served in the role since 2013.
Cafferty took the role of VP and head of corporate communications at the Priceline Group, the parent of Priceline.com, this summer.
Lemarchand-Wood is tasked with managing internal and external communications for the Priceline.com brand. She oversees two staffers.
"Throughout my career, I have looked for opportunities that would allow me to tell great stories about changing industry landscapes, big companies acting as scrappy as newcomers, and talented teams driven to offer consumers the best products and services. Priceline is one of those companies," she told PRWeek via email.
Lemarchand-Wood joins Priceline from Nielsen, where she served as VP, deputy communications director. In that role, she led comms for Nielsen’s TV and audio businesses and was responsible for the measurement company’s cross-platform communications.
She departed Nielsen last month and said her replacement at Nielsen has not yet been named. A representative from Nielsen was not immediately available to comment.
Before Nielsen, Lemarchand-Wood was director of corporate communications, North America for Vivendi. Earlier in her career, she was a client service manager for PainePR and account supervisor at Euro RSCG Magnet.
