Digital tech magazine Computer Bild claims that Apple’s German press team has refused to send it any more testing devices or invitations to official events after its editor Axel Telzerow was shown bending an iPhone 6 in an online video that has attracted around 200,000 views.

In the letter, which is published on Computer Bild’s website, Telzerow said that the video was in response to public reports about a problem with the new model and that it was the magazine’s job to test products for its readers.

Directed at Cook, Telzerow said: "Is this really how your company wants to deal with media that provide your customers with profound tests of your products? Luckily we do not have to rely on devices that Apple provides us with. Luckily, a lot of readers are willing to pay money for our magazine to keep us independent."

Apple has not yet provided a comment.
