Nick Miles and Hugh Morrison launched M:Communications in 2002 and it grew to become one of the City’s top PR firms with revenues of £14m.

However, it closed its doors last summer after Miles, Morrison and five other senior staffers walked out in the spring amid dissatisfaction with the value of equity incentives received when they sold the business in 2008 to private equity firm King Worldwide.

The new venture came to light when Montfort and Morrison’s names appeared on the ‘Intention To Float’ document filed by luxury shoe company Jimmy Choo yesterday morning.

When contacted by PRWeek yesterday Morrison said he would prefer to talk at more length about the agency later in the year, but confirmed that he is currently working with Miles.

He also revealed Montfort is focusing on comms disciplines including financial, regulatory and litigation, has seven staff and is based in Berkeley Square in Mayfair.

According to Morrison the period of gardening leave King Worldwide put him on last year ended in December and he started the new company this spring.
