MHP takes on MoneySuperMarket public affairs work

Price comparison website MoneySuperMarket has appointed MHP Communications to handle its public affairs following a competitive pitch.

It is believed that the account was previously with Maitland, which started working for MoneySuperMarket in 2011 on financial and corporate PR and has declared it on the APPC register as a public affairs client. However, Maitland had not responded to requests for confirmation at the time of publication.

MoneySuperMarket – which is listed in the FTSE 250 – offers a free online service allowing customers to compare a wide range of financial products.

MHP’s corporate affairs practice will provide UK political analysis, issues management and strategic support.

Clare Francis, editor-in-chief at MoneySuperMarket, said the company wanted to "raise awareness of issues that are currently negatively impacting our customers".

"Our aim is to help households make the most of their money but there are multiple obstacles and barriers which mean many don’t have the products and services best suited for their needs – this is something we want to help change."
Joshua Peck, managing director at MHP Communications, said: "MoneySuperMarket already has a fantastic reputation in the UK, and we’re looking forward to building on these strong foundations with our sector-leading political expertise as it extends its public affairs work."
