British Red Cross hires Rain Communications for World War One-themed campaign

Rain Communications has been appointed by the British Red Cross to work on a new campaign to drive donations across the charity's UK shops.

Rain will handle the launch of The Gift House – a pop-up boutique store in Covent Garden – which forms part of a First World War-themed Red Cross campaign.

The pop-up store will be open for two weeks from Friday 7 November.

The campaign is to commemorate the centenary of the First World War, when Red Cross volunteers hosted the first ever pop-up charity shops known as ‘Gift Houses’. The campaign hopes to drive stock into the charity’s 330 shops nationwide, before the Christmas period.

Rain Communications is advising on retail location, fashion industry relations and fashion media programmes.

Delia Hyde, CEO of Rain Communications, said: "This project has all the essential ingredients for a hugely successful campaign – the British Red Cross launching a London pop-up in celebration of the WW1 centenary, and supported by top fashion and retail brands.
