FleishmanHillard named crisis leads for the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and EMEA regions on Tuesday.

Brian West, based in Singapore, will serve as the firm’s global crisis management lead and head of the crisis team in Asia-Pacific. New York-based Chris Nelson will lead crisis management for the Americas, while James Dunny, located in Dublin, will oversee crisis communications in EMEA, the firm said in a statement on Tuesday.

The three will oversee a team that includes more than 100 of the firm’s senior crisis counselors.

Global head of practices and industry sectors Bob Winslow said the positions were created two years ago. The three men stepped in on an interim basis at that time, and the roles have now been finalized.

He added that the firm launched a program to certify crisis counselors around the world to add "consistency whether it was a crisis in Singapore, Berlin, or New York."

"Typically because all crises are global the minute they break, clients need to have a consistent approach they can count on," he said.

West is an SVP and senior partner at the Omnicom Group agency, and he has served as interim chair of the firm’s global crisis practice since early 2013. He has worked across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific regions and previously ran the APAC operations of Hill & Knowlton, according to his LinkedIn account. West has also worked at Burson-Marsteller.

Nelson, also an SVP and partner, previously led Ketchum’s North American crisis preparedness, issues management, crisis response, and litigation communications capabilities. He has also worked at Burson-Marsteller, Ashland Chemical, and the Ohio State University Medical Center, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Dunny has worked at Murray Consultants and Weber Shandwick, according to his LinkedIn profile, and has experience across sectors including pharma, technology, agriculture, food, energy, and media.

A Fleishman representative was not immediately available for comment.
